The Carnelians, a group of visual and music artists who came together to encourage each other and to promote their work, are named after the stone that represents a powerful force of positive energy and inspiring creativity.
They all have a love of the natural world. This, together with city and rural landscapes, are themes that run through much of their work. Many of their compositions include experimental techniques, innovative approaches and a freedom of expression creating exciting new works.
The members of the Carnelians comprise Nina Sage and Sherry Rea - fine art printmakers, Amanda Stuart - a sonic artist and myself - a mixed media artist. Nina and Sherry are also members of "The Purple Printmakers".
